This would fit nicely with thematic units around celebrations or insects. Or it could be a movement-based exploration of the hero’s journey.
- What audience did you have in mind while writing the book?
We started out targeting ages 4+ but the concepts and language landed a little older.
- How do you think the book could impact its readers, particularly children?
It’s such a beautiful example of someone disadvantaged rising to a challenge, not by ignoring their disability but by going another route. And the friendship between the two very different fireflies is really sweet.
