This is the sort of title I can picture on a recommendation table with a handwritten card beside it.

I tend to like books that sound like they know exactly which reader they are trying to charm. Death and Dinuguan lands there for me. The title has enough personality to start the conversation before I even get to the pitch, which is usually a good sign for the café-table hand-sell this site is built around.

What matters after that is whether the book promises real chemistry instead of vague warmth. Mia P. Manansala working in the romance lane makes me think this one is aiming for voice, momentum, and the kind of character friction that gives a recommendation some teeth instead of just good manners.

If the execution matches the setup, I can see this being the sort of book I slide across the table to the reader who wants heart, spark, and a little extra flavor in the mix. Penguin Publishing Group has it listed for 25-Nov-2025, which is enough to keep it firmly on my radar.
