Ok But This Business Book Actually Slaps
So my friend texted me last week: “do business books count as self-care?” And honestly? After reading Roger Spitz’s Disrupt with Impact, I think the answer might be yes.
Here’s the vibe. Spitz is a futurist (like, a real one, Top 15 worldwide according to Global Gurus) and he wrote a book about how to run a business when literally nothing is predictable anymore. But he didn’t write it like a textbook. The San Francisco Book Review gave it 4.5 stars and said it’s “written in bite-sized sections that are packed with information and feature plenty of real-world examples.” That tracks. You can read a section with your morning coffee and walk away with something usable.
He’s got these two frameworks, the Disruptive Thinking Canvas and the AAA framework (Antifragile, Anticipatory, Agility), and they sound intense but they’re actually super approachable. The SFBR reviewer said his advice is “realistic and actionable in pretty much every industry,” which, yeah. I kept thinking about people I wanted to send specific chapters to.
The book’s won a bunch of awards too: Foreword Indies Book of the Year, Chanticleer first place, Readers’ Favorite bronze. BookTrib literally called it “pure gold.” I don’t throw around award lists to impress people, but when a book collects that many from that many different places, it means something.
If you’ve got a friend who’s starting a business, managing a team, or just spiraling about the future of their industry, send them this. It’s the kind of book that makes you feel less alone in the chaos.
